About This Role
- Maintain and improve the health, performance, and observability of a large database fleet across Percona MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Cassandra.
- Build and enhance telemetry and automation to improve database operations and execute patching at scale.
- Transition from reactive operational tasks to proactive engineering-driven improvements while collaborating with a global distributed team.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience managing or administering services at scale with hundreds of nodes or more.
- Hands-on administration experience with at least one open-source datastore (e.g., Percona MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra).
- Strong Linux administration skills and real hands-on Linux experience in on-premise or EC2 environments.
- Proficiency in Linux/Bash scripting plus at least one general-purpose programming language (preferably Golang or Python).
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in operating large-scale, distributed database environments with a focus on reliability and performance.
- Skilled in automation and observability tooling to drive continuous improvements and operational efficiency.
- Comfortable working in a globally distributed team across multiple time zones with a hybrid work setup in Pune.
