HPE brand and Bangalore location increase interest, but niche datapath/ASIC requirements narrow the candidate pool.
Highly specialized networking datapath, router/switch, and ASIC experience limits cross-industry transferability.
Explicit 7-9 years plus mandatory low-level networking and datapath skill requirements make filters stringent.
Own development of complex packet forwarding features for Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols (IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, SRv6, EVPN-VxLAN, Multicast, Firewall/Filter, DHCP).
Analyze, debug, and fix sophisticated microkernel/Linux issues related to datapath forwarding.
Collaborate with cross-functional and customer-facing teams to translate requirements, solve complex problems, and sustain existing features to drive customer satisfaction.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) from a reputed institution.
7 to 9 years of professional experience in software development relevant to networking or datapath forwarding.
Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python with experience in debugging, design, and problem-solving.
Prior experience developing software for routers, switches, and datapath ASICs (Broadcom, Mellanox, Innovium, Barefoot, or similar NPUs) is highly desirable; strong networking background mandatory.
Experienced in multi-core software architectures and product development lifecycle focusing on network datapath features.
Demonstrates strong ownership in delivering high-quality software projects on time with attention to complex protocol implementations and kernel-level issues.
Possesses deep networking protocol knowledge (IPv4/IPv6, TCP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, DHCP, STP, Multicast) with expertise in debugging tools like GDB and scripting for kernel troubleshooting.
