Senior, niche performance engineering role at a lesser-known employer reduces competition.
Low because performance testing and monitoring skills transfer easily across industries and application types.
High due to explicit 8+ years requirement and multiple mandatory performance testing, scripting, and monitoring skills.
Develop and execute performance, load, stress, and endurance tests on applications and systems to ensure speed, scalability, and stability.
Analyze test results to identify bottlenecks, perform root cause analysis, and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders and management.
Mentor junior engineers on performance best practices and integrate performance metrics monitoring using APM tools and CI/CD pipelines.
Bachelor's degree required; Software Engineering or Computer Science preferred; Master's degree preferred but not mandatory.
Minimum 8 years of experience in performance engineering or related roles.
Hands-on experience with performance testing tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling and monitoring tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or New Relic.
Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Java, Python, or Shell; experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CICD pipeline updates.
Experienced senior-level engineer comfortable working across development, QA, and DevOps to integrate performance considerations early in the development lifecycle.
Strong technical background with in-depth knowledge of system architecture, database tuning, networking, and cloud monitoring tools.
Someone capable of leading performance testing strategy while mentoring others and fostering a performance-aware culture within teams.
