Tier-1 employer and Bangalore location increase competition, but niche datapath expertise limits applicant density.
Highly specialized datapath, NPU/ASIC, and kernel expertise reduces cross-industry transferability.
Explicit 7–9 years requirement and mandatory low-level networking and kernel skills make screening strict.
Develop and enhance Layer 2 and Layer 3 packet forwarding features including IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, SRv6, EVPN-VxLAN, Multicast, Firewall/Filter, DHCP.
Analyze, debug, and resolve complex microkernel/Linux and networking issues with a focus on customer satisfaction and sustaining existing features.
Collaborate with customer-facing teams and cross functional teams to translate requirements into software design and drive innovations.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) from a reputed institution.
7 to 9 years of software engineering experience, preferably with strong networking background and router/switch software development experience.
Proficiency in C, C++, Python programming; experience with datapath ASICs like Broadcom, Mellanox, Innovium, Barefoot, or NPUs is highly desirable.
Experience with multi-core software architectures, strong understanding of OS concepts, networking protocols (IPv4/IPv6, TCP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, DHCP, STP, Multicast), and debugging tools such as GDB. Role is primarily onsite at HPE office.
Experienced software engineer playing a strong technical role focusing on high quality and timely software delivery in networking products (routers/switches).
Strong problem-solving ability with deep networking expertise and familiarity with datapath ASICs/NPU hardware platforms.
Capable of working with complex, multi-core software architectures and addressing customer issues effectively while collaborating across teams.
