Head of Engineering Operations

Own and maintain the ingest pipeline hardware, tooling, and media lifecycle to ensure accurate data transfer from field devices to cloud storage.

Manage the hardware fleet including inventory, hardware specification, warranty claims, and capacity planning across multiple locations.

Lead quality control investigations, define capture configuration standards, and serve as the technical escalation point for operations, supporting teams on tooling and procedures.

Technical background in engineering or computer science, or equivalent hands-on experience.

Proficient with Linux systems including media management, filesystems, and log reading.

Working knowledge of Python scripting for automation and tooling support.

Willingness to work with physical hardware and travel to deployment sites as needed.

Experienced in hands-on hardware troubleshooting with a methodical approach to isolate faults across devices, media, and stations.

Comfortable operating in fast-moving environments with undefined or evolving processes, capable of defining procedures and standards.

Strong discipline in data integrity, chain of custody, and process verification to support scientific research data quality and operational reliability.
