About This Role
- Manage and deliver commercial archaeological fieldwork projects across multiple sites, ensuring safety, quality, and timeliness.
- Lead and coordinate fieldwork teams and resources, act as liaison between site and senior project managers, and oversee project budgets and logistics.
- Contribute to proposals, monitor project risks and finances, provide professional advice to clients, and promote continuous improvement in fieldwork practices.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience managing commercial archaeological fieldwork projects with senior responsibility.
- Willingness and ability to travel to various UK sites as required.
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to drive company vehicles.
- Membership of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA) highly desirable but not mandatory; support provided if lacking.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced operational leader able to manage multiple field teams and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Strong knowledge of British archaeology, professional standards, and safe fieldwork practices.
- Capable of using initiative and judgement to identify and resolve issues, escalate risks, and enhance project delivery.
