About This Role
- Own and support critical research infrastructure including cloud, GPUs, servers, and development environments like Github for Microsoft Research India.
- Design and implement automation to improve reliability, security, and productivity of research workflows using scripting and DevOps tools.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and lead technical contract staff to deliver complex infrastructure solutions and support events.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, technical operations, DevOps, systems engineering, or software development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux and/or Windows administration.
- Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages and understanding of security fundamentals including access control and identity management.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced automation expert who acts as a force multiplier by improving productivity and eliminating friction in research infrastructure.
- Demonstrates effective stakeholder management and communication skills to collaborate across engineering, procurement, security, compliance, and IT teams.
- Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure or high-performance computing environments and managing technical support teams is a plus.
