Sr. Site Reliability Engineer

Lead incident command by directing application and infrastructure teams during critical incidents, making prioritization decisions, authorizing rollbacks and failovers.

Oversee site reliability and resiliency including managing cloud and on-prem infrastructure vulnerabilities, disaster recovery drills, and system availability improvements.

Drive tooling, automation, and process improvements to enhance incident response capabilities and operational efficiency across PayPal’s platforms including Venmo, Xoom, Zettle, and Braintree.

Minimum 3+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Significant hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS or GCP required, multi-cloud preferred).

Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, or equivalent) and Kubernetes, including troubleshooting related configurations during incidents.

Professional-level cloud certification required (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).

Experienced technical leader comfortable making high-stakes decisions in incident command roles with cross-functional teams across large-scale financial platforms.

Strong cloud-native infrastructure background, with deep expertise in cloud platforms, IaC, Kubernetes, monitoring, and automation to support incident resolution and resiliency projects.

Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate technical issues with senior leadership during high-pressure situations and post-incident reviews.
