About This Role
- Own the engineering controls for MyKaarma's reporting products, ensuring reliability, testability, traceability, and safe changes.
- Accountable for automated testing, release safety, data quality controls, reconciliation, dependency visibility, and operational reliability across data transformation and semantic layers.
- Implement and enforce standards for data models, reporting components, data contracts, and participate in incident management and on-call rotations.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years relevant data-engineering or analytics-engineering experience in production (exceptional 4-year candidates may qualify).
- Advanced expertise in SQL, data modeling concepts including grain, slowly changing dimensions, and reconciliation.
- Production experience with dbt or equivalent transformation frameworks and cloud analytical warehouses (BigQuery preferred; Snowflake, Redshift, Synapse acceptable).
- Proficiency in Python or equivalent for data tooling, plus experience with Git workflows, CI/CD, and data-quality ownership.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in managing data-quality, observability, incident response, and reliability beyond pipeline development.
- Skilled at translating architectural direction into durable data products and controls within a SaaS and multi-team environment.
- Familiar with semantic modeling layers (LookML/Looker) and enforcing data governance models including ownership, lineage, and controlled change workflows.
