About This Role
- Continuously monitor and ensure health and reliability of eBay's critical services with proactive issue detection.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop and maintain solutions for high site availability and performance.
- Lead major incident resolution as Incident Commander including technical triage, communication, and process improvement.
Minimum Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in backend or platform roles.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Go, or Python.
- Experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, and observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry).
- Strong incident management and leadership skills with ability to handle crises and technical troubleshooting.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in site reliability engineering or similar roles bridging development and operations, focusing on system reliability at scale.
- Skilled in collaborative problem solving and cross-team coordination including developing SOPs and improving monitoring tools.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments requiring clear communication and leadership during incidents.
