About This Role
- Own and lead the Android application architecture and delivery in a major rebuild of a consumer-facing mobile product.
- Perform technical direction, code review, and mentoring for the Android engineering team to ensure quality and standards adherence.
- Manage Android release processes including Play Console workflows, build health, adaptive layouts, and represent Android platform constraints in program decisions.
Minimum Requirements
- 8+ years of native Android development including leading at least one application architecturally from early stages.
- Expertise in Kotlin 2.x with K2 compiler, coroutines, Flow, Jetpack Compose in production at scale, and recommended Google app architecture patterns.
- Experience with Hilt or equivalent DI, Room, DataStore, Retrofit or Ktor, multi-module Gradle with Kotlin DSL, and current Play Store API level requirements.
- Experience leading engineers through code review, mentorship, and setting engineering standards; familiarity with REST integration against Node.js backend.

- Hands-on technical leader who drives build quality and engineering standards without formal management responsibilities.
