Medium due to strong Microsoft brand and Hyderabad location despite niche kernel storage specialization.
High — deep Windows kernel and storage-driver expertise is highly domain-specific and not easily transferable.
High due to explicit 8+ years and highly specialized Windows kernel, storage driver, and debugging requirements.
Own end-to-end resolution of complex Windows storage kernel issues escalated from top-tier enterprise customers, including debugging memory dumps, ETW traces, and cluster logs.
Design, implement, and deliver reliability and security fixes for Windows storage stack components—NTFS, ReFS, S2D, WSFC, CSV, StorPort miniport, and file system filter drivers.
Develop diagnostic tooling and automated regression suites; engage directly with customers and coordinate with Microsoft Security Response Center for vulnerability disclosures and patch delivery.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field AND 8+ years software engineering experience with deep expertise in Windows kernel-mode development using C/C++.
Hands-on experience with Windows storage driver stack (StorPort miniport, storage filter, file system minifilter) and strong knowledge of Windows kernel fundamentals and debugging with WinDbg.
Experience with NTFS/ReFS on-disk structures, WSFC quorum models, Cluster Shared Volumes, Storage Spaces Direct architecture, and clustered storage connectivity protocols (SMB Direct, iSCSI, NVMe-oF).
Proven ability to handle high-urgency customer escalations (ICMs/CritSits), perform crash dump analysis, and deliver fixes through Windows servicing pipeline.
Experienced Windows kernel engineer focused on storage subsystem reliability and security with deep domain expertise in clustered and hyper-converged storage technologies.
Able to analyze complex distributed/storage failure scenarios via detailed kernel debugging, diagnostic data, and log analysis, working effectively with enterprise customers under pressure.
Skilled in driving fixes end-to-end including code ownership, technical reviews, collaboration with security teams, and mentoring engineers in a high-impact enterprise software environment.
