Mid-level performance QA role with niche skills and moderate brand leads to medium competition.
Skills transfer across software industries but require deep systems knowledge, so moderate background sensitivity.
Explicit 5+ years plus mandatory systems, networking, profiling, and performance test skills make screening stringent.
Investigate and perform root-cause analysis on complex software failures and performance issues across application, system, network, database, and infrastructure layers.
Design, execute, and review performance test cases based on product architecture and customer workflows, analyzing results to identify bottlenecks, regressions, and recommend corrective actions.
Develop diagnostic tools, maintain troubleshooting methodologies, mentor engineers, and communicate technical findings clearly to drive resolution of performance problems.
5+ years in software engineering, performance engineering, systems engineering, reliability engineering, production troubleshooting, or related in product-based software environments.
Proficiency in programming/debugging with at least one major language such as Java, C++, C#, or Python.
Strong understanding of OS concepts (processes, threads, memory, CPU, synchronization) and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, latency, timeouts).
Experience analyzing logs, traces, profiling data, creating and executing performance tests, and diagnosing concurrency, latency, resource contention, or scalability issues.
Experienced in systematic root-cause analysis with ability to formulate and test hypotheses using diverse diagnostic data.
Operates with deep curiosity and a desire to understand product internals rather than conducting black-box testing.
Collaborates closely with developers, owning difficult investigations through persistence and clear communication of complex technical findings.
