About This Role
- Optimize and resolve performance bottlenecks in enterprise OLTP and OLAP databases by deep-diving into SQL execution plans, indexing, partitioning, memory allocation, and I/O tuning.
- Set up and monitor database observability with native cloud tools, establish SLOs/SLIs, and lead high-availability and disaster recovery implementations and continuous optimizations.
- Proactively tune parameters and optimize slow queries through complex execution plan analysis, rewriting SQL, and designing indexing strategies.
Minimum Requirements
- 8+ years of core database engineering experience with at least 5+ years in deep database tuning.
- Advanced skills in analyzing execution plans, join orders, index usage, and identifying system-level disk I/O bottlenecks.
- Proficiency in automation scripting with Shell or Python.
- Experience with high availability tools setup and troubleshooting.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in large-scale database performance optimization with deep knowledge of database internal architectures and tuning techniques.
- Comfortable working with cloud-native monitoring platforms and implementing SLOs/SLIs for database systems.
- Capable of leading disaster recovery and high availability architecture projects in enterprise environments.
