About This Role
- Lead and deliver large, complex cross-team technical projects for the Core Marketplace responsible for majority of Carousell’s revenue.
- Make and communicate key technology and architecture decisions, contribute to design and code, and mentor engineers across the organization.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and senior engineers to improve platform quality, reduce technical debt, and increase developer productivity.
Minimum Requirements
- 8+ years in software development with 2+ years as a Lead Engineer or equivalent technical leadership role.
- Experience leading multiple engineering teams and building scalable, web-scale microservices systems.
- Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or Java and deep knowledge of distributed systems, databases (Postgres), key-value stores (Cassandra), caching (Redis), and search engines (Elasticsearch).
- Work Experience Required: 8+ years software development, 2+ years technical leadership. Other mandatory skills as above.
