Staff Security Software Engineer

Lead design, development, and delivery of scalable security platforms and distributed systems to enhance Coupang's security posture.

Drive architecture, technical design reviews, and implement engineering best practices across security and engineering teams.

Collaborate with Security, Platform, and Software Engineering organizations to translate ambiguous requirements into production-ready security solutions, including evaluating AI capabilities.

8+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale distributed systems.

Strong technical leadership experience leading complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives.

Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, or C++.

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field; experience with cloud technologies (preferably AWS) and security engineering domains like IAM, vulnerability management, or security automation.

Experienced in building security products, platforms, or services at scale with a focus on availability, scalability, and performance.

Capable of driving architecture and technical strategy across multiple teams and organizations.

Experience leveraging AI technologies to improve security capabilities or engineering productivity.
