Popular backend role with broad technical requirements and mid-level seniority yields moderate competition.
Requires telecom NTN/O-RAN familiarity plus cloud-native backend skills, moderately limiting cross-industry transferability.
Explicit 6-10 years plus mandatory cloud, microservices, and tooling expertise creates high shortlisting strictness.
End-to-end ownership of one or more AI-native, cloud-hosted intelligent RAN applications for Viasat’s LEO satellite network, from requirements refining through design, development, testing, integration, and production support.
Develop architecture, design, and implement scalable, maintainable microservices-based applications interfacing with O-RAN network components (RU, DU, CU, RIC, SMO).
Maintain and automate CI/CD pipelines and support production and lab environments aligned with team responsibilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
6-10 years of hands-on experience building and operating large-scale cloud-native, microservices-based, event-driven distributed applications.
Strong programming skills in Golang or Python; experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS).
Experience with distributed systems, RESTful APIs, event streaming/messaging technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ, etc.), and CI/CD/DevOps tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
Technical ownership experience in cloud-native, scalable distributed systems with emphasis on microservices and event-driven architectures.
Familiarity with wireless systems (Terrestrial or Satellite) and O-RAN based network frameworks and components.
Proven ability to design, build and maintain production-grade, reliable, observable systems with automated deployment pipelines in a public cloud environment.
