Mid-level metro role with strong VW association but specialized automotive IDS reduces broad applicant competition.
Highly automotive-security-specific skills (IDS, CAN, AUTOSAR, ISO/SAE21434) limit cross-industry transferability.
Explicit 5-10 years plus mandatory automotive IDS, ISO/SAE21434, Python and Robot Framework skills.
Perform manual and automated end-to-end testing for automotive IDS components and systems including hardware setup and CAN message validation.
Develop, maintain, and manage test cases and test runs using Xray (JIRA), ensuring traceability and detailed reporting for stakeholders.
Collaborate with developers, CI/CD engineers, and IDS teams to enhance test environments, tooling, automation (Python), and security validation processes.
5 to 10 years of relevant experience in automotive component testing (ECUs, vehicle platforms, integration).
Proven skills in Python scripting, Robot Framework, test automation tools, and Linux environment proficiency.
Strong understanding of vehicle networking protocols (CAN, SOME-IP, TLS) and automotive cybersecurity, including ISO/SAE 21434 and IDS concepts.
Hands-on experience with Xray in JIRA or equivalent for test case management and experience working in Agile environments (SAFe/Scrum/Kanban).
Experienced in automotive cybersecurity testing with practical knowledge of IDS, CAN bus security, network segmentation, and secure communication.
Capable of operating in cross-functional and international teams with strong communication and reporting skills.
Comfortable with backend validation tools (Databricks, SQL), scripting (Shell), and familiar with CI/CD pipelines and network packet tools (Scapy) as beneficial but not mandatory.
