Tier-1 brand, metro locations, and mid-level experience raise competition though firmware is niche.
Specialized SSD/embedded firmware skills and hardware knowledge limit cross-industry transferability.
Explicit 6–12 years requirement plus mandatory low-level embedded firmware, protocol, and tooling skills drive high strictness.
Develop and debug high-performance firmware for memory controllers and SSDs to improve performance, reduce power consumption, latency, and SoC complexity.
Evaluate, build, bench test, and analyze failures of firmware for new memory storage devices.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers to triage failures, file bug reports, and isolate firmware issues using AI support tools.
6-12 years of experience in embedded firmware development, preferably in storage/SSD.
Strong proficiency in assembly and C programming for firmware design and debugging.
Knowledge of mass storage interface protocols PCIe/NVMe; familiarity with SATA or SAS is optional.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent required.
Experienced working independently with minimal supervision and leading/supervising junior engineers.
Strong background in embedded storage systems, firmware, and relevant development tools such as ARM IDEs (e.g., Eclipse).
Comfortable working in multi-functional teams under multiple priorities and using AI tools for firmware development and debugging.
