About This Role
- Take full technical ownership of a live Backstage-based Internal Developer Platform including stability, architecture, performance, and upgrades.
- Resolve escalated support issues and convert recurring incidents into permanent fixes across plugins, authentication, catalog ingestion, and developer workflows.
- Design and build custom Backstage plugins and integrations, maintain software catalog and templates, manage deployment and operations, and mentor junior engineers to ensure team self-sufficiency.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on professional experience with Backstage in production including building, customizing, deploying, and supporting the platform.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React (frontend) and Node.js/Express (backend) for plugin development.
- Solid DevOps experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent), and experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Experience with authentication and authorization frameworks including OIDC/OAuth2, SSO providers, and RBAC; proficient in English (C1 Advanced).

- Proven ability to operate and extend Backstage in production with ownership over platform architecture and support under SLA constraints.
- Experience mentoring and upskilling engineers, focusing on knowledge transfer and team enablement.
- Comfortable engaging with customer stakeholders to translate developer-experience goals into platform enhancements and roadmaps.
