Mid-level generalist backend title, metro location, strong employer brand, and broad tech requirements increase competition.
Core Java cloud-microservices skills are broadly transferable across industries though fintech domain knowledge helps.
Explicit years plus mandatory Java microservices, Kafka, Kubernetes, and cloud requirements make filters strict.
Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native microservices primarily using Java with Spring Boot/Spring Cloud, focusing on resilience, scalability, and performance.
Own complex microservices end-to-end including architecture, API modeling, event-driven flows, secure coding, observability, and testing discipline.
Collaborate with architects and vendor teams; mentor engineers on best practices; drive modernization from legacy database-centric systems to microservices architectures.
6-8+ years professional software development experience; at least 4 years building Java microservices in production.
Strong Java 17+, Spring Boot/Spring Cloud, REST/JSON expertise; Kafka experience with streaming and transactional data patterns mandatory.
Proven experience with relational databases including stored procedures and performance optimizations.
Production experience on Kubernetes and public cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP); security knowledge including OAuth2/OIDC/JWT and SAST/DAST compliance.
Experienced in end-to-end design and delivery of resilient, secure, and observable distributed systems in Java microservices environments.
Skilled in migrating and modernizing legacy systems and legacy data models to cloud-native microservices with modern architectural patterns.
Able to operate effectively with cloud-native platform tools (CI/CD, containerization, Kubernetes) and provide mentorship with clear technical leadership in high-quality engineering standards.
