About This Role
- Lead and provide technical direction for machine learning initiatives across eBay Ads and marketplace discovery.
- Design, build, and operate scalable ML and backend systems supporting sponsored experiences, ranking, retrieval, and personalization.
- Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional teams to translate algorithms into production-ready code and drive impact through A/B testing.
Minimum Requirements
- Master's in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years experience, or Bachelor's with 13+ years in ML/AI/Data Engineering.
- Expertise in production software development using OO languages like Scala or Java.
- Experience with cloud services, big data pipelines, distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Flink).
- Strong hands-on experience developing production ML systems using Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.

- Senior technical leader capable of shaping ML system architecture and leading cross-team collaborations at scale.
- Experienced in running ML in live 24/7 production environments with strong focus on monitoring and incident response.
