About This Role
- Own the frontend client architecture and engineering including real-time, local-first state management, synchronization, caching, offline behavior, and conflict resolution across large, complex workspaces.
- Ensure frontend performance and scalability in rendering, memory usage, load times, and latency for dense views holding tens of thousands of items.
- Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to define and ship features, set frontend standards, and review high-risk designs and implementations.
Minimum Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with React, TypeScript, and frontend architecture at scale.
- Experience building real-time applications using WebSockets, subscriptions, or event-driven architectures.
- Proven expertise in local-first frontend problems: client-side persistence, synchronization, caching, and offline support.
- Experience identifying and resolving frontend performance issues in complex, data-heavy applications.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in designing maintainable frontend systems with deep understanding of state management and browser architecture.
- Has worked on collaborative or multi-user apps with concurrent updates, ideally familiar with CRDTs, OT, or equivalent synchronization techniques.
- Comfortable working in open-source environments and shipping software that runs at scale in regulated and sovereign cloud settings.
