About This Role
- Own and scale the architecture of a Live control room supporting multiple client teams at YouTube Live.
- Lead and coach the live team based in Bengaluru to develop modern, reliable live streaming features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders in Bengaluru and San Bruno to scale third-party APIs and support the third-party YouTube Live ecosystem.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 5 years experience in mobile or backend software development using languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Flutter, iOS, or Android.
- At least 3 years experience maintaining, testing, or launching software products and minimum 1 year experience in software design and architecture.
- Work Experience Required: 5 years in relevant software development roles.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in C++ back-end development and preferably Typescript-based web front-end stacks.
- Demonstrates technical leadership, with at least 1 year in a leadership role, preferably in video or consumer-facing product development.
- Comfortable leading and scaling engineering teams and working collaboratively across geographically distributed teams in Bengaluru and San Bruno.
