About This Role
- Lead end-to-end design and implementation of IPv6 features in SonicWall firewall networking stack including routing, DHCPv6, NDP, MLDv2, and PBR.
- Drive IPv6 feature parity and protocol correctness across subsystems such as VPN, IPsec/IKEv2, SSL-VPN, Syslog, SNMP, and NAT64 ensuring dual-stack and IPv6-only operation.
- Architect and optimize high-performance IPv6 packet processing paths and resolve complex IPv6 protocol interoperability and compliance issues.
Minimum Requirements
- 7-9+ years of hands-on C/C++ systems development for networking platforms (routers, Layer-3 switches, CGNAT, or network security appliances).
- Deep production-level IPv6 expertise covering addressing, subnetting, DHCPv6-PD, NDP, RA, MLDv2, IPv6 routing protocols (OSPFv3, BGP with IPv6 AFI/SAFI, RIPng), IPsec/IKEv2 over IPv6, IPv6 ACLs, PBR, and transition mechanisms (Dual-Stack, 6in4, NAT64, 464XLAT).
- Strong understanding of L2/L3/L4 networking including Ethernet, VLANs, bridging, routing, NAT, firewall state, and VPN tunneling for IPv4 and IPv6.
- Proven skills in debugging and diagnostics using tcpdump, Wireshark, GDB, kernel trace tools and network emulators (GNS3, EVE-NG). Notice Period: Not explicitly mentioned in the JD.
