About This Role
- Lead a team maintaining and evolving mission-critical internal engineering systems, including CI/CD platforms and developer tooling at significant scale and complexity.
- Own delivery and operational responsibility for improving reliability, performance, and developer workflows across GitHub engineering teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align on priorities, unblock obstacles, and ensure quality, secure, and resilient infrastructure while balancing speed and stability.
Minimum Requirements
- 9+ years experience in software engineering or related technical discipline.
- 3+ years experience leading engineering teams working on complex infrastructure, platform, release, or validation systems.
- Proven production software coding skills in one or more of Go, Ruby, Rust, Python, JavaScript, C, C++, C#, Java.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in leading large-scale CI/CD and build infrastructure with focus on reliability and developer experience.
- Demonstrated ability to run operationally critical platforms including incident response, observability, and cross-org escalation.
- Track record of managing distributed teams, driving cross-team collaboration, and balancing execution with long-term platform investments in complex environments.
