Tier-1 brand, metro location, and visible SDE title increase competition.
Specialized hardware, kernel, and L2/L3 networking expertise limits cross-industry fit.
Explicit 8-12 years and mandatory kernel, driver, and firmware skills make filters strict.
Develop and enhance forwarding and platform software for SD-WAN and edge routing products, focusing on high-performance packet forwarding and L2 networking features.
Collaborate with ASIC, hardware, and cross-functional engineering teams for hardware-software integration including new platform bring-up, driver development, and Network Interface Module (NIM) integration.
Design, implement, and maintain firmware components such as bootloaders and ROMMON, and perform deep performance debugging across kernel and hardware abstraction layers utilizing modern AI-assisted development tools.
8-12 years of industry experience in end-to-end software development for networking platforms including system software, kernel/user-space drivers, bootloaders, and BIOS.
Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming targeting systems programming in Linux environments.
Experience in device driver development with RTOS/Linux kernels, and firmware development including bootloaders (ROMMON) and board support packages (BSP).
Solid understanding of routing architectures and Layer 2/Layer 3 networking protocols such as Ethernet, VLANs, and STP.
Experienced in low-level networking software development with demonstrated ability to integrate hardware and firmware components across complex platforms.
Skilled in debugging performance issues bridging hardware, firmware, and software layers, with knowledge of hardware interfaces (i2c, PCIe) and debuggers (GDB, BDI).
Familiar with modern AI-assisted software development workflows and tools, capable of leveraging them to optimize development lifecycle and product quality.
