Tier-1 employer and metro locations increase competition, but highly specialized embedded industrial networking skills limit applicant pool.
Role requires embedded industrial networking, motor control and silicon bring-up, limiting cross-industry transferability.
Explicit 7+ years and mandatory industrial Ethernet/TSN, RTOS, bring-up and certification experience enforce strict filters.
Lead and own the development and integration of Industrial Ethernet protocol stacks (EtherCAT, PROFINET, CC-Link IE TSN, Ethernet/IP) and motor control software on RISC-V-based real-time MCUs.
Manage and grow a cross-functional embedded software team (5+ members), define execution plans, and ensure quality across SDK, protocol stacks, and validation.
Lead post-silicon validation and bring-up efforts including debugging of Ethernet/TSN switch, MACs, DMA, PHYs, and establish conformance test infrastructure to meet certification requirements.
7+ years in embedded software and/or post-silicon validation, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
Hands-on experience with Industrial Ethernet and TSN protocols (EtherCAT, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, CC-Link IE TSN, or HSR/PRP), including shipped and certified products.
Strong RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar), device drivers, real-time systems, and motor control knowledge (FOC, ADC/PWM, encoder handling).
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Proven ability to deliver industrial protocol stacks through conformance and certification processes (e.g., CLPA, EtherCAT CTT, PROFINET ART Tester).
Experienced in leading embedded software teams handling complex, latency-sensitive networking and motor control systems in industrial automation contexts.
Skilled in post-silicon validation and debug with tools like OpenOCD, Segger J-Link, and Lauterbach, and proficient with scripting for automation and CI/CD setup.
