Backend Engineer (Real-time Systems)

Design and develop high-throughput, low-latency real-time pipelines for ingesting video and sensor streams.

Build and maintain the event, alerting, and integration layer for routing actionable alerts to operator systems within five minutes.

Own platform reliability, scalability from one site to thousands of cameras, observability, and handling back-pressure across the streaming pipeline.

4+ years of experience building distributed, real-time, or streaming backend systems.

Proficiency in Go, Rust, Python, or C++ and experience with message/streaming systems such as Kafka, NATS, or gRPC.

Experience with containerized environments, GPUs, and deployment in on-premises or air-gapped settings.

Work Experience Required: Minimum 4 years

Experienced in designing scalable backend streaming systems that handle video/sensor data at high throughput and low latency.

Comfortable managing systems under strict reliability and observability standards in mission-critical settings.

Skilled in working with complex infrastructure including containers and GPUs, particularly for deployments with security constraints (on-prem/air-gapped).
