Software Engineer :: C/C++, Python scripting, L2/L3 Networking (9-12 Years)

Lead design and development of next-generation control-plane and data-plane software for Cisco IOS XE across a variety of networking platforms including switches, routers, and IoT devices.

Own large complex features from requirement gathering through architecture, implementation, validation, and production deployment, influencing platform-independent database infrastructure and system-level trade-offs.

Drive technical leadership including code and architecture reviews, threat modeling, root-cause analysis, and mentoring senior engineers, while partnering with product management on strategic technology decisions.

Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years in relevant software engineering roles.

Strong proficiency in C programming and Python scripting; solid understanding of Linux, Unix or RTOS operating systems, including kernel and device driver experience.

Proven experience in software development for networking products with strong fundamentals in software architecture, modular design, and unit testing.

Hands-on experience with generative AI assistants or agentic AI frameworks (e.g. OpenAI models, Gemini, MCP).

Experienced technical leader comfortable driving cross-functional stakeholder negotiations on architecture, scope, and timelines for complex networking features.

Deep domain expertise in networking software and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and familiarity with infrastructure technologies like containers, virtualization, and network automation.

Practitioner with background in developing scalable, secure, and maintainable platform-independent software systems for enterprise networking or service provider environments.
