About This Role
- Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable backend services primarily using Node.js or Python for a self-service Data Analysis Platform.
- Implement and manage Azure SQL data models, engagement-scoped role-based access control (RBAC), secure file ingestion/storage with Azure Blob Storage/ADLS Gen2, audit logging, and asynchronous workflows using Azure Functions and Service Bus.
- Integrate backend with Power BI and Azure OpenAI for secure report delivery and AI-assisted data processing; ensure robust testing, code quality, and meet compliance requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- 8+ years professional backend/software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js or Python backend development and REST API development.
- Proficient with Microsoft Azure services including Azure SQL, Azure Blob Storage/ADLS Gen2, Azure Functions, Service Bus, and Azure Entra ID (OIDC/OAuth).
- Experience with relational database design, secure authentication/authorization including RBAC, unit and integration testing, and use of Git in modern development workflows.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced backend engineer with deep expertise in cloud-native application development on Microsoft Azure and managing data-intensive, distributed systems.
- Strong ownership of end-to-end backend architecture, security practices, and integration with analytics (Power BI) and AI services (Azure OpenAI).
- Capable of building scalable, secure, audited, and maintainable backend platforms supporting complex workflows and multi-GB data ingestion in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
