About This Role
- Design, develop, and own medium-to-large networking firmware features and system software for Cisco enterprise switching platforms, focusing on L2/L3 connectivity and reliability.
- Independently drive technical design, implementation, testing, and delivery of high-performance switching software components.
- Troubleshoot complex device and customer issues, mentor engineers, and contribute to improving product architecture and engineering productivity.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, EE/ECE, or related field.
- 8-12 years of relevant software/firmware development experience in networking or embedded systems.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ with deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, OOP, memory management, and debugging.
- Hands-on experience with networking firmware or system software development including L2/L3 networking protocols and Linux/system programming debugging tools.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Senior engineer with demonstrated ownership of medium-to-large technical features end-to-end in firmware or system software for networking products.
- Strong systems programming skills including concurrent programming, multithreading, IPC/RPC mechanisms, and embedded networking protocol development.
- Experienced in debugging, root cause analysis, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including quality, platform, and product groups.
