Strong brand, metro setting and mid-level range increase applicants, but niche packet-core telecom QA reduces competition.
High because specialized packet-core telecom, 3GPP protocols and Spirent testing skills are industry-specific.
High due to explicit 4-10 years and mandatory telecom packet-core, protocol and tool expertise.
Design and create test scripts and setups for Packet Core network components following test strategies.
Execute and validate end-to-end test cases for 4G/5G core network functions and analyze system and test tool logs for debugging and root cause analysis.
Drive improvements by leveraging expertise in Packet Core network protocols and testing tools including simulators and Spirent Landslide.
4 to 10 years of experience in Packet Core network testing and validation.
In-depth knowledge of 4G/5G Packet Core nodes (SGSN, GGSN, MME, PCRF, ePDG, vEPC, AMF, SMF, UPF, NRF, NSSF, UDM, UDR, UDSF, PCF) and 3GPP protocols (S1AP, NGAP, GTP, HTTP2, NAS, PFCP, Diameter).
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information System, or equivalent.
Mandatory skills: test automation/scripting, use of core network simulators (e.g., Spirent Landslide), understanding of NFVi architecture and VNF lifecycle management. Experience with Kubernetes (K8S), Helm, JSON, YAML, and L2/L3 networking preferred but not mandatory.
Experienced in handling complex 4G/5G core network testing environments and capable of building test setups independently.
Strong analytical skills for debugging based on system and network logs to identify root causes convincingly.
Comfortable working with network function virtualization and containerized environments (NFVi, VNFs, Kubernetes networking).
