Principal Data Engineer - Snowflake and DBT

Develop and maintain large scale data platforms including enterprise data warehouses and data marts with proper emphasis on data access, security, privacy, and governance.

Lead technical efforts in software development, data engineering frameworks, and implement creative, efficient data products using agile practices.

Collaborate with architects and IT teams to enhance data platform design, manage technical debt, change control, and ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.

15+ years experience in designing and building Data Warehouses and Data Lakes with strong expertise in Snowflake platform and AWS cloud services (S3, Lambda, Glue, Step Function, CloudWatch).

Expertise in ELT/ETL processes with tools such as DBT, Qlik Replicate, and Snowpark, along with advanced SQL and data modeling skills (Relational, Dimensional, or Data Vault).

Experience working with large-scale ETL tools, Unix and Python scripting, Airflow orchestration, and knowledge of data protection regulations like GDPR and HIPAA.

Work Experience Required: 15+ years in data engineering relevant roles, Location: Bangalore, Role Type: Hybrid.

Demonstrates leadership in managing data engineering teams, technical initiatives, and cross-functional stakeholder influence, reporting to Associate Director level.

Strong domain knowledge especially in financial services, with experience supporting regulatory reporting, finance, risk, and customer analytics data platforms.

Operates well in global, multi-timezone environments collaborating with US-based technology teams delivering scalable enterprise data solutions.
