About This Role
- Lead development and evaluation of AI and machine learning solutions for Meeting Intelligence in Copilot, including defining methodologies and quality metrics.
- Drive experimentation, data-driven decision making, and influence product strategy through analysis of user behavior, product outcomes, and AI quality signals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor senior scientists while advancing techniques in NLP, retrieval, and contextual intelligence to improve AI meeting experiences.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field with 6+ years experience OR Master's degree with 4+ years OR Doctorate with 3+ years related experience in statistics, predictive analytics, research or equivalent.
- Expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), NLP, Information Retrieval, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, Conversational AI, Knowledge Representation, Machine Learning for language/productivity.
- Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow; experience with cloud-scale AI services and distributed systems.
- Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check and meet security screening requirements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Senior-level data scientist with 9+ years in applied machine learning or AI driving impactful, large-scale product solutions especially in generative AI and agent-assisted user experiences.
- Strong expertise and publication record in conversational understanding, speech/language technologies, human-AI interaction and evaluation systems for AI products.
- Experience leading cross-team scientific initiatives, with recognized thought leadership including patents and industry innovation.
