About This Role
- Troubleshoot complex backup, restore, replication, and data retention issues in PowerProtect Data Manager, Data Domain, and related data-protection workflows to root cause and resolution.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering, Software Development, and Product Management to identify systemic issues and prioritize product improvements enhancing reliability and user experience.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, training materials, and lead corrective action initiatives to address defects and operational gaps in data-protection software systems.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years experience in data protection engineering, backup infrastructure, or systems engineering.
- Strong Linux/Unix systems expertise with debugging skills including systems programming in C, multi-threading, algorithms, data structures, OS and file systems knowledge, advanced troubleshooting using tools like GDB.
- Advanced TCP/IP networking knowledge relevant to backup traffic, storage connectivity, data throughput, and replication.
- Work Experience Required: 5+ years
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Deep expertise with Linux as primary OS and familiarity with VMware, Windows, backup agents, cloud integrations, and modern protection hardware platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Dell Technologies Data Protection portfolio such as Data Domain (including DDOS, Boost, replication, cloud tiering) and PowerProtect Data Manager.
- Able to communicate complex data-protection technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively across engineering, support, and product management teams to influence product roadmap.
