About This Role
- Own end-to-end expansion and reliability of international payment corridors including partner integrations and operational runbooks.
- Translate EU licensing and regulatory obligations into engineering systems ensuring safeguarding of funds and transaction monitoring with full auditability.
- Lead, grow, and run a Payments engineering pod delivering payment product features weekly across API and GUI with high operational standards and incident command responsibility.
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years managing a team of 5+ engineers with direct reports including a Tech Lead, while remaining hands-on coding.
- Experience building or operating payment systems in production, including dealing with payment orchestration, ledgers, settlement, or reconciliation failure modes.
- Proven experience integrating banking/payment/FX partners and managing production migration or cutover with rollback plans.
- Experience working directly with compliance, risk, or regulators to negotiate technical and operational requirements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Comfortable leading a pod from scratch, setting standards, roadmaps, and running high-stakes operational on-call and incident command personally.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems correctness related to money including idempotency, exactly-once processing, concurrency, and reconciliation.
- Strong cross-border payments domain understanding with experience in corridor launches, FX, regulatory compliance, and partner orchestration in regulated fintech environments.
