About This Role
- Develop and maintain software, libraries, and tooling that ensure SAS products are global-ready and comply with internationalization standards (Unicode, locale-sensitive formatting, string externalization).
- Resolve customer-impacting defects in mature and legacy codebases, coordinating with support and product teams for patch updates with strong testing and regression control.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate internationalization best practices early in software development and use AI-assisted techniques responsibly to accelerate code review, defect triage, test generation, and documentation.
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years of software development experience applying internationalization best practices with libraries like ICU and CLDR.
- Proficiency in Go, Python, or C, with ability to read and contribute to production codebases.
- Working proficiency in shell scripting (e.g., Bash) for automation and tooling support.
- Experience using GitHub (branching, pull requests, code review) and Agile tools Jira and Confluence.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in internationalization engineering within mature and legacy software environments, focusing on defect resolution and internationalization best practices integration.
- Proficient with AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery speed while maintaining quality and compliance with development standards.
- Comfortable collaborating across teams including developers, testers, product managers, and support engineers in a global, cross-time zone setting.
