About This Role
- Design and implement order orchestration workflows on the Fluent Commerce platform, modeling states, rulesets, triggers, and user actions to reflect client business processes.
- Develop custom Java rules using Fluent SDK for business logic including validation, sourcing, allocation, fulfilment, and notifications, and build/consume GraphQL APIs for data entities.
- Integrate Fluent Commerce with external systems (ecommerce platforms, ERPs, WMS, POS, payment, carriers) via event-driven patterns and middleware; maintain CI/CD, troubleshooting, and technical leadership including mentoring.
Minimum Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software development experience with strong core Java skills.
- Hands-on experience with Fluent Commerce / Fluent OMS including workflows, rules, and Fluent SDK OR strong Java with OMS/orchestration platform experience and willingness to certify.
- Solid experience with GraphQL (schemas, queries, mutations) plus REST, JSON, API design.
- Experience integrating enterprise systems through APIs/middleware and familiarity with cloud (AWS preferred), Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in designing and maintaining complex distributed, event-driven order management systems with strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Comfortable working across backend Java development, GraphQL API integration, and system orchestration in a retail or omnichannel order management context.
- Able to lead technical design, code reviews, and mentor junior developers while collaborating effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
