About This Role
- Lead design, implementation, and evolution of scalable, secure API architecture and backend services ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the API engineering team to uphold engineering rigor and quality standards.
- Drive API-first practices, including clear contract definition, API documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger), security, observability, and seamless cross-functional integrations.
Minimum Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on API or backend engineering experience with at least 4-5 years developing API-based solutions.
- Minimum 2 years experience leading teams in API development.
- Strong programming skills in Java 8+, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
- Experience with API security (OAuth, JWT, RBAC, PKCE), API documentation standards, and API gateways is mandatory.

- Experienced leader capable of mentoring and growing engineers in complex API projects and collaborating across product, UI, and runtime teams.
- Proven track record delivering scalable, reliable API systems using modern development practices (CI/CD, automated testing).
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments balancing rapid delivery with technical and architectural excellence.
