About This Role
- Develop and modify software systems supporting manufacturing, reliability, and R&D processes at First Solar.
- Provide expert-level hyper care and tier three support for global manufacturing applications and database systems.
- Integrate shop floor control systems with custom and off-the-shelf software; assist with enterprise-level troubleshooting and documentation of recurring issues.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology with minimum 4 years related experience or equivalent education and experience combinations as specified.
- 3–6 years overall experience including 4+ years in manufacturing systems or software development using Microsoft .NET technologies.
- Minimum 6 months experience interfacing with manufacturing control systems, shop floor automation, PLCs, or OPC data transfer.
- Required technical skills include .NET/C#, Entity Framework, MS SQL and/or PostgreSQL, Azure DevOps, Git/GitHub, RabbitMQ and/or MSMQ, React, and Vibe Coding/Agentic Coding.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced with multi-tiered software architectures and databases supporting manufacturing environments, especially with Microsoft .NET technologies.
- Proven capability in deploying and supporting manufacturing system software with integration to control systems and strong troubleshooting skills in a global environment.
- Familiarity with Agile lifecycle, version control, continuous integration tools, and a broad spectrum of related manufacturing IT technologies such as Kubernetes/Docker, and optionally PLC integration and cloud services.
