About This Role
- Own and manage end-to-end platform components enabling customers to discover, book, pay for, and use third-party inventory smoothly.
- Design, build, and modernize microservices within Groupon's ecosystem, improving core abstractions, data models, and tooling.
- Lead integration of new partners/inventory to the platform, ensure platform health via metrics/alerts, and influence architecture decisions.
Minimum Requirements
- 6+ years experience building and operating production systems with strong hands-on Java expertise.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL) including query optimization and transactions at scale.
- Work Experience Required: 6+ years in relevant software development roles.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven ability to take wide technical ownership and deliver scalable, reliable platform services in complex distributed systems.
- Experience tracing and diagnosing issues across multiple interacting microservices where correctness and concurrency matter.
- Familiarity or willingness to work with advanced technology stacks including transition toward TypeScript, cloud-native GCP environment, and AI-assisted workflows.
