About This Role
- Own end-to-end architecture and technical decisions for systems handling real patient data and money, including service boundaries, data models, API contracts, encryption, observability, and scaling.
- Ensure compliance-by-design with PHI handling, payment data isolation, audit logging, access control, and encryption in production environments.
- Hands-on coding, code reviews, leading incident retrospectives, making trade-off calls, and setting technical standards adopted across teams.
Minimum Requirements
- 6+ years of production ownership experience, including 2-3 years as final technical authority on a platform.
- Hands-on Node.js and React experience (MERN stack preferred) with production cloud experience on AWS, GCP, or Azure, including networking, security, and cost optimization.
- Experience in regulated or high-stakes domains like HIPAA/PHI, PCI-DSS, fintech, banking, or insurance.
- Concrete experience making and living with trade-off decisions in architecture, not hypothetical scenarios.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in running production cloud systems with deep understanding of compliance and security in regulated environments.
- Comfortable leading architecture decisions and client communications on critical trade-offs that influence multiple teams and long-term standards.
- Track record of operational ownership of complex full-stack systems using MERN stack with infrastructure management (containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, secrets).
