Build, manage, and scale PhonePe's distributed production systems including databases, proxies, and messaging queues.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as OS vulnerability fixes, database maintenance, and proxy configuration rollouts.
Provide 24/7 on-call support and work in shifts to ensure uninterrupted production service availability.
Minimum Requirements
1-3 years of hands-on experience in Linux/Unix System Administration.
Strong proficiency with Linux CLI tools, disk & LVM management, system services, package management, file permissions, cron scheduling, and DNS concepts.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Salt or Ansible, database administration concepts, and scripting in Bash/Python.
Location: Bangalore; must be available for 24/7 rotational on-call shifts.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Operationally disciplined, able to follow predefined SOPs and work under supervision on well-defined tasks.
Experienced in managing distributed systems like Galera, Nginx, Aerospike, ElasticSearch, RMQ typical in high-availability production environments.
Comfortable working in a 24/7 operational model providing on-call support within a collaborative SRE organization.
