Lead complex engineering initiatives including design, development, deployment, and strategic programs for Commonwealth Bank’s Merchants business customer systems.

Mentor engineers, drive engineering excellence via process improvement, and support system reliability including on-call critical issue resolution.
Minimum Requirements
11-14 years of experience delivering Java solutions in complex enterprise environments, preferably banking or financial services.
Strong hands-on experience with Java, SpringBoot, Docker, Kubernetes and backend development.
Mandatory skills include REST/SOAP APIs, PostgreSQL/DynamoDB, AWS cloud, DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, Octopus), IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), and observability tools (Prometheus/Grafana, AWS CloudWatch).
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Senior engineer with deep expertise in large-scale distributed systems, microservices, and multi-tenant secure environments in enterprise/banking domain.
Technically strategic leader comfortable driving architecture, tooling adoption, and mentoring across multiple teams and projects.
Familiarity with GenAI tools, AI/ML concepts, and frontend secondary skills (React.js, Next.js) is a plus but not mandatory.
