Own and automate the full Software Configuration Management (SCM) environment including applications, OS, and server hardware across a large-scale, multi-site GitLab deployment.
Design, code, and deploy automation tools and solutions to improve reliability, performance, and productivity for globally distributed engineering teams operating hundreds of systems.
Lead or contribute to GitLab upgrades, migrations, architectural reviews, root cause analyses, and ongoing support in a global team setting.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
At least 3 years of experience in SCM processes and managing large-scale GitLab or similar SCM environments.
Proficient in scripting/object-oriented languages (Python, Perl, or Ruby), automation tools (preferably Ansible or Puppet), and system administration on Linux (Rocky Linux 8, CentOS/RHEL, Ubuntu).
Experience configuring/deploying CI/CD systems and working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
Experienced SCM architect familiar with large, multi-site GitLab environments and complex infrastructure automation.
Strong software engineering mindset with hands-on skills in CI/CD, Linux system administration, and automation toolsets enabling scale and reliability.
Able to lead technical improvements while collaborating globally, with a proactive problem-solving approach and effective communication skills.
