AVP - Cloud Database Automation Engineer

Design, enhance, and add new functionality to Synchrony data platforms, focusing on database platform automation and management.

Provide technical oversight, architecture, and guidance for database engineering and automation efforts, including infrastructure as code and operational support.

Implement automation for database operations, migration, monitoring, and cloud database management (especially AWS).

Minimum 8+ years experience in systems automation on database platforms, with deep expertise in at least one database technology.

3+ years of Public Cloud AWS RDS experience and 3+ years expert knowledge of Linux/Unix/Windows systems.

5+ years experience as a Senior DBA or Database Automation Engineer with production system expertise.

Bachelor's Degree is mandatory.

Experienced in automation using scripting/programming languages (Terraform, Python, Shell) and cloud infrastructure (AWS).

Skilled in architecting and maintaining automation tools to reduce operational complexity for high availability, mission critical databases.

Comfortable working flexibly across US Eastern Time zones and collaborating with global teams in a production 24x7 environment.
