About This Role

Design and develop Board Support Package (BSP) and Diagnostics for Cisco Core and Edge routing products.

Develop and test kernel and user space device drivers for FPGA and networking peripherals.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug prototypes and validate embedded software and device drivers.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with at least 4 years experience, or Master's degree with at least 2 years experience.

Proficiency in C, C++, and Python programming languages.

Strong hardware and device driver development experience including Linux hardware bring-up, multi-threading, event handling, and state machine implementation.

Experience developing, debugging, and validating embedded systems and device drivers for protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, and GPIO.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experienced in kernel debugging tools such as GDB and KGDB and capable of troubleshooting kernel modules to applications.

Has worked on large-scale, high-bandwidth embedded systems with end-to-end software development experience.

Familiarity or experience with networking protocols (Layer 2/3), network processors, optical networking, AI/ML technologies, and embedded system quality processes.
