Mid-level hybrid role at a known consulting firm but mainframe specialization reduces broad applicant density.
Mainframe and COBOL/DB2 expertise is niche and less transferable across industries, increasing sensitivity.
Explicit 6-8 years requirement plus mandatory COBOL/JCL/DB2/mainframe skills creates high shortlisting strictness.
