Own end-to-end design, development, and engineering quality of production-grade AI agent applications on AWS for 1-2 teams, including Python coding (~60%) and mentoring (~40%).
Implement and integrate complex agentic AI patterns (multi-step reasoning, memory, HITL gates) using AWS Strands SDK and Bedrock AgentCore, with disciplined use of platform primitives (model gateways, identity, observability).
Lead CI/CD pipelines, observability, incident response (on-call), technical roadmaps, and enforce engineering best practices (code/design reviews, ADRs, testing, guardrails).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent experience (10+ years experience if no degree).
8+ years software engineering experience, including 3+ years as tech lead/staff/principal engineer on cloud-based production systems.
Expert-level Python with strong knowledge of async, typing, testing, design patterns, and FastAPI; experience with AWS Strands SDK, Bedrock AgentCore, and core AWS services.
Work timmings required to cover 06:00 AM - 11:30 AM US Eastern Time for collaboration; Flexible otherwise; must be available for on-call rotation.
Proven leadership in building and scaling complex AI agent applications using AWS cloud services and agent frameworks with strong focus on software craftsmanship and platform integration.
Experienced in mentoring and growing engineers, setting high engineering standards, and driving technical roadmaps in agile environments.
Skilled in LLMOps/DevOps practices including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, security, and incident management with cross-functional communication to non-engineering stakeholders.
